The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
