The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
