O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or, do you ask a tribute from them? Your Lord's tribute is better. He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
