[AND the tribe of] Ad gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
