And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 [For,] would We treat those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds in the same manner as [We shall treat] those who spread corruption on earth? Would We treat the God-conscious in the same manner as the wicked? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). 30 Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot; 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 But [ere this,] indeed, We had tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned [towards Us; and] 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 and others chained in fetters. 38 "This is Our gift," (We said to him), "so bestow freely or withhold without reckoning." 39 And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return. 40
