The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
