Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
