And mention in the Book (the Quran) Ibrahim (Abraham). Verily! He was a man of truth, a Prophet. 41 When he said to his father,* “O my father – why do you worship one which neither hears nor sees, and cannot benefit you in any way?” (* His uncle Azar.) 42 Father, knowledge has come to me which has not come you, therefore, follow me. I will guide you to a Level Path. 43 "O my father! Do not worship Satan - for, verily, Satan is a rebel against the Most Gracious! 44 Father, I am afraid that the Beneficent God's torment will strike you and you will become a friend of satan." 45 But he replied: 'Do you shrink away from my gods, Abraham? Surely, if you do not cease I will stone you, so leave me for awhile' 46 He said, “Stop it – peace be upon you; I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord; indeed He is very kind to me.” 47 I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest. 48 Thereupon Abraham dissociated himself from his people and the deities they worshipped instead of Allah, and We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob and made each of them a Prophet; 49 and We bestowed upon them [manifold] gifts out of Our grace, and granted them a lofty power to convey the truth [unto others]. 50
