Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 so that we exalt You 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
