The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
