Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
