۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
