Al-Rahman 3 of 3
But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens- 46 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 47 These Gardens will abound in green, blooming branches. 48 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 49 Wherein are two fountains flowing. 50 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 51 In [each of] these two will two kinds of every fruit be [found]. 52 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 53 reclining upon couches lined with brocade, the fruits of the gardens nigh to gather -- 54 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 55 In the midst of these shall be maidens with modest, restrained glances; maidens whom no man or jinn has ever touched before. 56 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 57 lovely as rubies, beautiful as coral -- 58 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 59 Is there any reward for good other than good? 60 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- 62 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 63 Dark green with foliage. 64 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 65 In the Gardens are two springs, overflowing with abundance. 66 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 67 In both of them there will be fruit trees and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 69 Therein will be damsels agreeable and beauteous. 70 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 71 houris, cloistered in cool pavilions -- 72 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 73 untouched by jinn or mankind before. 74 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 75 Reclining upon cushions green and carpets beauteous. 76 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 77 Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. 78

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
