Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
