Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
