The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, "Will we really return to our former state?" 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
