We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
