Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds. 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
