▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 Do you make its denial your means of livelihood? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And you at that time look on-- 84 We are nearer to him than you, but you do not see 85 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 86 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water 93 And a hurling into the blazing fire. 94 Verily, this is indeed the truth of truths! 95 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
