Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
