Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
