The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
