The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
