The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And the promised day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 by a burning fire 5 when they were seated around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
