The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 to their promise, 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
