Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
