The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
