HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
