He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and fearfully, 9 you ignore him. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 olives, dates, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his wife and his children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
