And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
