۞ No sooner the example of the son of Mary was mentioned than, lo and behold, your people raised a clamour 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
