Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
