The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou enveloped! 1 arise, and warn! 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And children present [with him] 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then looked he, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
