Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
