The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
