And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 and no sincere friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
