Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah - He will waste their deeds. 1 But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and believe in the (Revelation) sent down to Muhammad - for it is the Truth from their Lord,- He will remove from them their ills and improve their condition. 2 This is because the disbelievers followed falsehood and the believers followed the Truth which is from their Lord; this is how Allah illustrates the examples of people to them. 3 So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost, 4 He will guide them and amend their condition 5 and will admit them to Paradise with which He has acquainted them. 6 O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. 7 And those who disbelieve, downfall shall be theirs, and He shall send astray their works. 8 That is so as they were averse to what has been revealed by God, and their actions will be nullified. 9 ۞ Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth and beheld what happened in the end to those [willful sinners] who lived before their time? God destroyed them utterly: and the like thereof awaits all who deny the truth. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of the believers whereas the unbelievers have none to protect them. 11
