Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
VERILY, [O Muhammad,] We have laid open before thee a manifest victory, 1 so that God may forgive you your past and future sins and complete His favour to you and guide you to a straight path, 2 And so that Allah may provide you a great help. 3 It is God who has given confidence to the hearts of the believers to increase and strengthen their faith. To God belongs the armies of the heavens and the earth. He is All-knowing and All-wise. 4 That He may admit the believing men and the believing women to Gardens under which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise), to abide therein forever, and to expiate from them their sins, and that is with Allah, a supreme success, 5 And [God has willed] to impose suffering [in the life to come] on the hypocrites, both men and women, and on those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, both men and women: all who entertain evil thoughts about God. Evil encompasses them from all sides, and God's condemnation rests upon them; and He has rejected them [from His grace,] and has readied hell for them: and how evil a journey's end! 6 To Allah belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. Allah is the Almighty and the Wise. 7 Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner 8 that you may believe in God and His Messenger and succour Him, and reverence Him, and that you may give Him glory at the dawn and in the evening. 9 Verily, those who give Bai'a (pledge) to you (O Muhammad SAW) they are giving Bai'a (pledge) to Allah. The Hand of Allah is over their hands. Then whosoever breaks his pledge, breaks only to his own harm, and whosoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah, He will bestow on him a great reward. 10
