Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
