The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
