He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And hath fear, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits and pastures 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyous 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
