Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive. 95 But if the people of these regions had believed and feared God, We would surely have showered on them blessings of the heavens and the earth; but they only denied, and We punished them for their deeds. 96 Did the people of the towns think themselves secure from Our wrath that could strike them at night during their sleep 97 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them in daylight while they are playing? 98 Do they feel secure against God's devising? No one feels secure against God's devising except for those doomed to ruin. 99
