Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
