[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease for me my task 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 and let him share my task 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
