'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
