Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
