The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he deluded; 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 It is not but a revelation revealed, 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 His heart did not falsify what he perceived. 11 Will ye therefore dispute with him concerning that which he hath seen? 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 and he certainly saw some of the greatest Signs of His Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 What, have you males, and He females! 21 That indeed were an unfair division! 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. 25
