The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virginal, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38
