NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
