The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
